This is an excellent opportunity to photograph some of the world's best golfers alongside some top sports and entertainment celebrities at the BMW PGA Championships at Wentworth.
The PGA Championship is the most prestigious event on the DPWorld Tour and therefore attracts a huge number of the top players in the world. This year the event is in September and the field includes some of the world's best golfers including the recent Augusta Masters Champion Rory McIlroy who has confirmed that he will be playing, alongside the Masters runner-up Justin Rose. British Open Champions Shane Lowry and Francesco Molinari, Tommy Fleetwood and many many others. Fellow Masters winner Jon Rahm has regularly competed in the past and is expected to be at Wentworth again. Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald also regularly plays.
In previous years England's cricket stars Ben Stokes, James Anderson, Jos Butler and Joe Root have all competed, along with Stuart Broad and McLaren F1 driver Lando Norris. As a selection of former Premier League footballers as well as many stars from the world of TV and entertainment are invited, the Celebrity Pro-Am day at Wentworth is going to be a star-studded event.
The West Course at Wentworth is a beautiful setting and great for pictures, offering photographers limitless vantage points to get those great shots, both close up tee shots as well as great opportunities around the greens. I have photographed this event for over twenty five years and will use this wealth of experience to get you into the right positions and best vantage points to shoot the great images you're after. I have now photographed five Ryder Cups and many more Open Championships.
This is an excellent full day of photography, starting at around 8/8:30am on the course and finishing late in the afternoon. However you can leave at any point of the day that suits you. Under new DP World Tour rules only mirrorless silent cameras can be used on Pro-Am Day.
The Pro Celebrity day is unique as these days are far more relaxed photographically than the actual competition days, allowing us more scope to get into the exact positions we need to be in to get the best shots. The sporting celebrities competing in the past have included John Terry, Paul Scholes, Robbie Fowler, as well as cricket legends Sir Ian Botham, Shane Warne, Brian Lara and Allan Lamb. From the world of entertainment One Direction's Niall Horan will also be teeing off with the Pros as well as many many others.
The day costs £289 and includes entry. Numbers are strictly limited to allow myself to give as much one-to-one tuition as possible.
IMPORTANT - New PGA rules stipulate that all cameras used on the course must now be MIRROLESS and SILENT. Regular shutter DSLRs are no longer permitted
Last year's course was hugely popular so please email me at info@sportsphotographyschool.co.uk to secure your place.
